If you ever wanted to know what it would taste and feel like to swallow a plateful of your regrets, head to China Red. The "food" took forever, was delivered to the wrong table, and once it actually arrived it was palpably mediocre. Inedibly huge chunks of meat slopped in weird sauce. And rice that was somehow less flavorful than normal rice-- like, how do you even do that? And to top it all off, I think something in it is making me all stuffy and phlegmy! I actually changed this from a two-star to a one-star review while I was typing it because of the heaping pile of regret-rospect I'm experiencing. Take note.
I have gotten food here twice. I have been disappointed both times. It's greasy. It's low quality. It's not as good as any of the "scoop" style spots in Denver (which are not known for quality, but can be quite tasty). I wish there were a better Chinese food restaurant in the Reunion area.
The food is always very good! We usually call ahead to order, which cuts the wait time significantly. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes for an order. The staff is kind and the food is good, the wait is the only drawback.
About a year ago this place was not so good. Gave it another try and WOW....they stepped up their game. Keep it up, China Red!
I moved to the area about 4 months ago from Aurora which has nearly 0 good places to get Chinese food. Coming to CO from VA 4 years ago I had been at a loss trying to find a place on par with my favorite Chinese place back home. Their Genel Tso's chicken is the best I've had in comparison to my favorite spot back in VA, and is hands down the best in the area. Only downside is that the dish itself doesn't come with a small order of rice so it makes it a bit expensive having to order a side of rice as if it was another entree. Location is good, convenient, and reminds me of the same spot back home with their open kitchen and "hole-in-the-wall" aesthetic.
